To start, I love Turkish Airlines. Incredible service and the food will get you in the mood for the Country.

Fight your jet lag and wander over to Lokanta, where they have great dolmas, shops and a museum. Head to the Grand Bazaar and go to the back of the bazaar to see the rugs! They will spread them out like magic carpets and woo you with glasses of tea and Turkish sweet meats.

Don't miss the Blue Mosque and the call to prayer. The Haiga Sofia is architecturally beautiful and also an important monument for the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.

I like to stay on the Bosphorus where you can see the ships all day long. You can also take a boat ride on the Bosphorus and have breakfast in Europe, lunch in Asia!

THe Ciragan Palace is the original palace from the 18th Century. There is a balcony in every room plus views of the Bosphorus Bridge. The pool is divine. Try Tugra Restaurant - live classical Turkish music and incredible food. Were I to marry again, I can envision a wedding here. Of course I would settle for the fireworks show over the Bosphorus at the end of October.

Walk to Bebek where there is a fun park in an upscale neighborhood. Also Starbucks with the best view in the world, in my humble opinion.
Party at Luca Bistro Bar in Bebek.

The Nisantasi district is a posh shopping district with cafes. Daniel Craig stayed at the Park Hyatt while filming.

Going to Cappadocia is a must do as well. Allow at least two nights here to unwind, take a balloon ride to see the fairy caves and drink in the spirituality of the place. The Museum Hotel is an incredible cave hotel on top of the world with the best views in Europe. You can have a Barber cut your hair on the terrace - old style shaves as well. The restaurant at the Museum Hotel is famous in the area, and the hotel serves elaborate breakfasts as well.

Experience the Hammam while in Turkey, either in Istanbul or Cappadocia. It is a wonderful cure for jetlag - some clients experience it right off the plane.

The Goreme Museum is a wonderful experience as well. Visit Mustafapasa, a Greek Town with Greek House.

Stop at Dayinin Yeri for best Turkish shis kebob and pizza - go before or after the outdoor museum.
