Jane Mathias

I fell deeply in love on my honeymoon. Not just with my husband, but with travel. We visited London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Florence for the first time, and I adored them all almost as much as my new spouse.

Since then I have developed and expanded my passion for traveling — for the experience itself of learning about different ports, cultures, and cuisines, as well as for the sense that travel has broadened my perspective on life. When I travel, I feel like a kid in a candy store who is lucky enough to sample all the exotic opportunities that make each destination special. When I am designing trips for customers, I try to give them that same feeling. In Spain, it might be a local hole-in-the-wall flamenco club; in Bali, a performance of “The Ramayana” or a local cockfight; in Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon), a trip through the Cu Chi tunnels or a visit to an out-of-the-way restaurant on a boat in the Mekong Delta where locals may be celebrating a wedding.

I am also passionate about cruises. I have traveled on all kinds of boats, from sailing vessels to river cruises to large family-oriented ships to upscale Regent cruises. I have booked dozens of cruises for singles, honeymooners, and extended families with children, grandparents, and disabled members, and I have learned to read deck plans and ask the appropriate questions so that you will enjoy a wonderful holiday with maximum benefits.

Indeed one of my specialties is multigenerational vacations, and I have created cruise and land packages for families celebrating birthdays and anniversaries together.

I am also an Asia specialist. A favorite escape of mine is Ubud, Bali. Here, from the comfort of a luxurious private infinity pool, one can view local rice paddies and inhale the scent of frangipani which permeates the air day and night. The temples are gorgeous, and the craftspeople who sell carved wood spirit houses and Balinese goddesses are charming as well as persuasive.

Yes, I love to shop, both in the exotic markets and souks of the East and the trendy and elegant shops of Paris and Rome. For those of you of similar mind, I can recommend out-of-the-way seamstresses and tailors who will help you create clothing, scarves, and beautiful tableware that you will love.

Just as they handcraft beautiful custom designs, I can tailor your needs and your dreams and create for you an unforgettable travel experience.
